My best friend Toby II goes bike riding with his Mom–well, she rides and Toby II runs along on a bike leash. I walk well on a leash, but I don’t know much about bike leashes. I’m game for most things, so when they decided to hitch me up, I decided to play along with them. I had no clue what was supposed to happen, but here I am, hitched up to the bike. I sure hope they let me know pretty quick what I’m suppose to do!
Toby II’s Mom and I took off and I got the hang of it pretty quick. Except there was this cat across the street (I just had to look, right?) We got past that and went around the block. I was trotting along pretty well until…there it was. Another CAT…we almost had an accident. Except for those durn cats, I’m doing pretty well on this bike! Here I come on the homeward stretch.
Then I saw Mom! I thought we needed to hurry. Look, Mom! No paws!! Come on–pedal faster!! Let’s GO.
We got back home and guess what? There was ANOTHER cat across the street.
I just had to look. Wouldn’t you?
I had lots of words today, but some of my furiends didn’t. I’m going to go see what they are up to!

Look at you go – good thing you behaved with all those cats about.
Better watch out or you’ll have a CATastrophe on your paws!
Hi Sage! You have great new hobby and you did it so well for the first time! If I’d had seen a cat the bike would have been flying (with Tobby 2′s mother)! Enjoy your biketours and forget the cats! Nero
BOL!! Looks like you learned real quick what that whole bike thing was all about, didn’t you Sage.
We agree with Teje, cat would have meant Mom on the ground with me dragging the bike!!
The cat sightings wouldn’t work too well for us….there would be a bike crash fur sure!
Wyatt and Stanzie
Hi Sage, You wouldn’t catch me tying you to a bike that I was planning on riding because I would know that it was only a matter of time before I would find myself being dragged through mud and water!! I think they should tie you to the front of the bike and dangle a cat in front of you.
I’ve often thought of getting one of these for Frankie and me but I really can’t see how I’d stay upright if he took off after a cat or to say hello to another dog! Would you say it’s safe for the cyclist, Sage?
Now that’s mighty cool…glad you didn’t doing any weird kinda jolting moves..would not be attractive!
Psst, If you happen to catch one of those cats, I have a good recipe! I’m glad my humans a walker, staying up with a bike looks complicated.

Woof! Woof! Happy “Bike Ride” Wordless Wednesday! Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
http://www.sugarthegoldenretriever.com/2011/04/wordless-wednesday.html
We have someone in our neighborhood that bikes with their dog…so cool!
We will most definitely be stopping in at Dogologie…love that store!
Hey there Sage,
It looks like you were having lots of fun, maybe too much fun and the cats wanted to join in too?!
You’re such a clever doggy being able to run like that alongside the bike, I run with Mum but she’s on foot, it took me a while to get the hang of that and she still doesn’t want to sniff trees as we pass like I do, which is a little challenging for me…..:)
Have a fun day,
Snoopy
Sage, we would so love to ride along with a bike but the Momster says the cats, rabbits, squirrels, birds, etc would be way too much of a distraction. Yesterday we saw a little doxie attached to a bike running his little legs off – we thought it was a bit much to ask of the little guy but he seemed very happy.
Hope you get to test that bike out again but be careful.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Hee hee! I don’t think Mom could ride fast enough to keep up with me!
Bunny
Sounds like the Dog Powered Scooter would be a safer option for your mom than the bike.
Rotten cats! I know just what you mean. They are such a distraction. I have to look at every cat I see too. Sometimes I bark too. — just a friendly bark.
Glad you didn’t have an accident. BOL
Your pal, opie!
Yes yes yes Bambi would HAVE to look and probably go see the cat, but than again she loves cats!!!
xx, Bambi & Fern
Wow, great job Sage! I was practically reading with my hands over my eyes because I was so nervous that there was going to be cat-induced crash! Phew!
With a couple more test runs (and some cat blinders?!) it looks like you may have a new activity for summer!

Tanner and Oliver love biking. We just got a couple of attachments for my bike which will need to be ‘attached’, but we’re looking forward to trying them out. What do you think about your model?
That looks like so much fun. I will have to talk to Mommy about getting me one of those to try!
Puppy Kisses,
Tanner
WOW, that sure looks like you, but it couldn’t be…no mud!
I wish my dogs would run next to my bike. I don’t think they make one of those short enough for a weiner dog though
That’s a pretty neat bike leash set up! I’ve been thinking it would be fun to take Murphy for some bike rides but wondering what the best way to go about it would be…there it is I guess!
Cool bike setup. I’ve been afraid to try it with Toki because I’m afraid she’ll try to go after something and tip me over. Did you get the feeling that Sage might get used to it and settle down? For instance, when I run with Toki, she usually ignores other dogs and concentrates on staying next to me. I’m hoping to get more feedback before I invest in a bike system…
Miss Sage, you are so fit and pawthletic! My daddy used to take me on bike rides like that when I was young but I ran so hard I hurt my paws, and I even almost pulled him over and he is great big! You did a great job and it looks like you were having lots of fun, hope you get to go for more bike rides!
Look at you guys go!
That looks like great fun! Wish our legs were longer and our personal assistant had better balance! (Darn cats! they are so distracting!)
