I’m Two!!

My hu-Aunt and Uncle came to visit and it’s been a busy week. Well, they were busy–I got a lot of sleep and lots of tummy rubs from my hu-Uncle. My hu-Aunt got a special treat for us, so last night was bully stick night! Toby and I each have our own techniques for attacking these sticks. I chewed mine in half, but Toby tackled the whole thing at once. Neither one of us finished them….

I got up this  morning and found all these preparations for a big celebration! I suspected something was a-foot when I smelled something really, really good. Mom had made Pupcakes! She said they were pretty easy to make.

Hamburg Pupcakes

1/4 pound ground beef
2 teaspoons potato flour (or oatmeal)
1 egg
1 white potato, mashed

Mix the ground beef, potato flour and egg together and divide into six pieces. Put into a cupcake tin and bake at 375 F for 20 minutes or until done. In the meanwhile, boil a white potato (I used a russet), mash with a little milk and let cool.

When the beef mixture is done and cooled, spread a little potato on top for frosting.

Would you believe Mom made me pose with one of these Pupcakes and I didn’t even drool!! And I didn’t even get a taste? What’s up with that? That’s because I got more presents! Of course, everything was something to eat because I destroy stuffies and eat the insides and Mom & Dad had to take me to the emergency vet one time. Remember? Before I could have any of my birthday presents, we had to go the park and played ball! That’s always my favorite pass-time, but you know that.

When we got home, I had to endure the silly hat thing, but I’m suppose to be grown up now, so I gave Mom her 2 seconds so she could take a picture. Toby, being the senior dog in this house, knew it would only get better. I wasn’t so sure. But it did! I have to tell you, this was the best birthday yet! You do know George the Lad‘s birthday is today too! He’s also two and had a big party over there in Shropshire, England. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, George!! I’ll have another Pupcake just for you.

I have to eat what?

It’s done nothing but rain, rain, rain for days now. BOOOOOOORING!! So, I’ve had to spend a lot of time in the condo. It’s so bad, I don’t even mind sharing with Mystic.Sleeping is another rainy day pass-time. I’ve been doing a lot of catching up on my beauty sleep, that’s for sure!Asparagus was on the menu last night–I’m not a big “green veggie” fan, but decided to try it. Toby usually gets my share, and I’m more than willing to let him! ICKI’d much rather watch those bushy-tailed rats that inhabit my yard. You won’t believe this, but I DON’T like going out in the rain–at least when it’s been coming down as hard has it is. Even to chase that squirrel off my fence. It’s true! Honest!!

But we did get an award the other day. I have to thank Stella and the guys over at Just Ramblin’ for giving us a Creative Capture Blogging Award! Wow, I’m honored!! Thanks a bunch–you made my day.

Now, if it would just quit raining!

Ferns & Moss

We’re back in the forest and you can see I’m a bit wet. That’s because it’s been raining and I found a mud-puddle and Mom didn’t take a picture. But that was yesterday’s news. Today, we’re going to look at what’s growing. There’s a lot of stuff growing on trees besides leaves here in Portland. Moss is EVERYWHERE–in the grass, on the roof and on the trees. And you thought ferns grew just on the ground. Not here! They also grow on the trees!

Ivy climbs up them too–it’s considered invasive here in the Northwest.

And do you see those leaves? Those were some of the biggest maple leaves I’ve ever seen!
On our way back to the car, we went past a whole bunch of ferns–did you know those ferns are taller than me? I guess that bath I had to have was worth it. Mom says I have to stay clean for a while. She’s no fun…..

On the Trail

Today we went to Powell Butte. We’ve been there before–remember? But there’s always something new to see. Leaves have fallen and it was C O L D. Personally, I love the cold–it cools me down when I run up and down those hills! And, yes, I found a mud-puddle, but Mom wasn’t quick enough with the snappy thing. My buddy, Caly, and I decided to check out those deer trails off to the side. And I played “king-of-the-mountain” on some of the fallen trees. That’s a really fun game–at least I think so.It started hailing about here, but the trees kept us kinda dry. Mom said it was good it stopped really quickly.

We found a place where there were a lot of ferns–there are a lot of those around Portland. That’s because it rains a lot here in the winter.

I have more ferns to show you, so check back. Fern–this will be for you!

Oh, I do have to tell you that I found some really stinky skat on one of those deer trails. Usually I get hosed off when we get home, but this time I GOT A BATH. Interestingly enough, I just stepped into the tub and said “I’m ready”. Can you believe it?

I’ll be visiting you at the Saturday Blog Hop! Hope to see you there.

Sleepy Time

Early in the morning, I don’t care who I sleep with. Now, if she starts snuggling, like these kittehs do with TobyI’ll be sure I’m slipping….

Pee Ess: This is an old picture taken WAY before Toby got his sickies. They still snuggle like that though….

River Walk

Mom has been restricting me from the computer while she’s getting her sewing room moved. Personally, I think she needs to get a grip! Oops. Sorry, Mom.

We went to the river and walked the beach today–well, she walked. I ran. And swam. There was some really nice fall color over there. See these sticks in the water? Too big to get MY teeth around. But, there was a ball involved. And I took advantage of it. Wouldn’t you?      Incoming!!And some aerobatics to go along with it.I hope you all had a great weekend. I did!
