Muddy Monday

Another Monday. Another mud puddle! It was a cold and foggy day, but that didn’t deter us from going to my favorite place in the whole wide world-1000 acres. We go there a LOT because Mom says it’s the only place she trusts me off-leash. She’s pretty smart about that. We did talk about some other places around Portland that we are going to try, but I’ll probably have to be on that darn leash. We’re just waiting for the weather to get a little bit better. It does happen! Really!!

Meanwhile, back on the trail (as they say). Please note the condition of my tail.

I’d already found a few mud puddles but there’s a lot of open ground where I can race and race and race. Usually I can find another dog to race with me. It sure is nice to be a dog!!

This was a particularly good mud puddle one–big enough to do a little splashing around in. Small enough to really get into it….

and, of course, I always have to check out who’s coming and going. You just never know!

but, doing a little “crazy dance” is very satisfying!

I guess there’s no escaping the inevitable, though.

Have a Happy Monday everyone!

  1. My goodness you are a wet dog! I just got back from the groomers. I think it’s really interesting that you love to be wet Sage. Mama thinks I must be part cat, cuz I don’t like water one little bit… accept to drink! This would be about 30 m inutes with a blow dryer and lots of anti mat brushing for me.

Well it looks like you had a good time and that’s all that matters!

    Happy Monday!

  2. You would so be in heaven in my yard rite now. We had big rain storms yesterday and my back yard be one big humungoid mud puddull. Rilly, the whole thing be unner waters. I has been in it twice alreddy this morning. You think mebbe that is why mom is so cranky or coz it be a Monday?

  3. Well, we never get to be off leash, so we are very jealous of your fun, Sage. And Ciara is determined to find a mudhole like that too. We think we might like to skip the bath:)

  4. Sage, your mud hole fun is so glorious! I think that may be why you can take the inevitable bath in stride. Here’s hoping you have many more Muddy Mondays in your future!!!

    P.S. I like mud, too. 🙂

    • Not quite every Monday, but it’s often once every two weeks! Just depends on how much mud sticks after I take a dip in the pond. Actually, this time, I rolled in some really nasty stuff (three times, to be exact).

  5. Dear Sage, you are something else!!! I love to see how happy you are out there running in the muddy places! You have great tale and tung!!!

Ps. here it’s stormy and rainy and cold.

  6. Hi Y’all,

Sage I get called back if I head toward a mud puddle.

Do you have to run beside the car to go home?

Surely your Human doesn’t have to wash you in her house?

    Y’all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  7. Sage, you look like you have the time of your life in those mud puddles. We are so envious! Our ground still has snow and is frozen.

So does playing in all those mud puddles make up for the end of the day bath?? BOL

  8. Hello Sage! I have forgot to say… if you know that when you leave a comment, your link doesn’t show. If someone would like to click to your comment to visit you, it doesn’t lead to your page.
Have a sunny and not myddy day Sage! Hugs from Nero
