On the Trail

Today we went to Powell Butte. We’ve been there before–remember? But there’s always something new to see. Leaves have fallen and it was C O L D. Personally, I love the cold–it cools me down when I run up and down those hills! And, yes, I found a mud-puddle, but Mom wasn’t quick enough with the snappy thing. My buddy, Caly, and I decided to check out those deer trails off to the side. And I played “king-of-the-mountain” on some of the fallen trees. That’s a really fun game–at least I think so.It started hailing about here, but the trees kept us kinda dry. Mom said it was good it stopped really quickly.

We found a place where there were a lot of ferns–there are a lot of those around Portland. That’s because it rains a lot here in the winter.

I have more ferns to show you, so check back. Fern–this will be for you!

Oh, I do have to tell you that I found some really stinky skat on one of those deer trails. Usually I get hosed off when we get home, but this time I GOT A BATH. Interestingly enough, I just stepped into the tub and said “I’m ready”. Can you believe it?

I’ll be visiting you at the Saturday Blog Hop! Hope to see you there.

I dread to think of me giving Zoie her first bath!!!!! It just might do this old women in!!!! She is such a BIG girl and heavy too!!! When we got her they said she was 44 lbs. At the vets 2 days later she was 56 lbs. She was skinny too. 8 days later I would guess she is 58 lbs and she is not near as skinny!!
    xx, Zoie & Fern

  2. Sage you are one lucky dog to be able to run through those gorgeous woods. I think you are beautiful. I’m sure you loved those mud puddles, I know my little pups would really love it. I know they miss it. We used to live in the country out in the Ozarks and had lots of property so they could run and run all day if they wanted. Now we live in the city in Arizona and don’t have a very big yard. I didn’t show my pups your pictures because I didn’t want them to get jealous.

  3. You have the coolest places to visit! Wow. We are just discovering the joys of hiking rather than just walking the neighborhood and do not have many places to really hike near by. I also wanted to let you know that I have been enjoying your blog for quite some time now and really enjoy seeing your photo captures of the moments you choose to share. You deserve the Creative Capture Blogging Award. Please enjoy the fact that someone out here in the blogosphere really does see and enjoys your photo captures of the moments you choose to share. Stop by to get your badge if you would like to show others your award status. Keep blogging, keep photographing, and keep sharing. Congratulations! : )

  5. That is such a pretty place for walk! Rugby considers a walk a success only if he finds a mud puddle on the way! Can’t wait to see the rest of the fern pictures.
