I have to tell you, this will be a long story. So, pull up a chair and get ready! Mom and I went to 1000 Acres (my favorite place in the whole world) the other day. AND yesterday. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Here I am–just little ol’ me.I was a bit bored–my buds Caly and Tucker weren’t there. So, any stick in a storm, so they say….I tried to stir up some action, but something was missing. UNTIL…
I rounded a corner and there she was! Olive. Another Australian Kelpie/Border Collie.
I’ve always heard that when you meet another of your breed, you just know it. The chemistry was there! We both love the water! Sticks (or balls, if we had one). Doing “little dog” (that’s what Mom calls it when we go into the herding stance). Just being dogs. And having fun!
I think I stayed in the water longer–it was cold, let me tell you! But when there’s someone throwing sticks, what do you do? Mom made me get out though. She said it was a bit too cold and I was shivering. Nothing that a little running will take care of!So, we played a little tug-a-war in the mud. Can you tell which is me? We mosey’d on a bit up the trail together. Running and chasing and playing. Then we had to go home 😦
But! Back we went yesterday! This time with Tucker & Caly. The water had really come up in just a week–this is the same pond we were at with Olive and there was no way we could have gotten to the trail we took last week. So, there I was. In the water again!
What else is new? Right?
I rounded a bend, and there she was! Olive!!Here we both are. Olive hadn’t been in the water yet, so it was a dead give-away. I think I was a little muddy…Tucker was eyeing Mom’s treat bag :).You ask? Dirty? Where would little ol’ me get dirty?Happy Muddy Monday everyone!!
And a very Happy New Year–may it be filled with mud….
Vof Dear Sage! Your New Year started with the best way – playing and enjoying with your friends!
I know which one is you – you have your special look in your eyes and those spots over your eyes are so close to your lovely eyes!
Thank you again for the Award you gave to me, I’m not sure if you got my message because there was something with the comments …
Did you scare the fireworks? I was so terrified and still yesterday I heard something and needed someone to hug me.
I wish you fantastic New Year! Your Greek friend Nero

It’s so fun when you get to meet another dog just like you! There’s another dog in the neighborhood that is a Hurley lookalike but each time his Dad comes in the store with him, Hurley happens to not be there that day. One of these days, we’ll get the two of them together!
Happy New Year!

Mom says we always do best with our own breed. But if we could hit the mud with you, we think we would be just fine. What a great time for you and your friends.

Whoa! That’s a long story all right. But a great one! I can tell you from Olive. You have bigger ears and a fluffier tail. (I think.)
Jealous as usual of all your mud. Love, Georgia – the only fearsome pigdog in the world that gets bathed every other day.

Hi Y’all!
That’s scary! Two peas from the same pod, or something like that. I was going by the tag…but in lots of pics it’s almost impossible to tell you two apart. Even with the hints, like the darker snoot…it’s like mirror images.
Y’all come back now,
