Well, I have. Now. Let me tell you what happened…
Mom got sick a few weeks ago and then Dad got sick. I knew there was something wrong. Then, over a week ago, some humans came and took Dad away in a big truck. Mom said it was an ambulance. And then she was gone. A LOT. And my hu-sis suddenly came all the way from the Popster land! And they were gone. A LOT. I was really sad.
Then, one day, Mom says: “Do you want to go see your daddy?”
Did she have to ask?
Off we went to this big place with lots of door and elevators and stuff. I wasn’t scared at all. Then, all of a sudden, we were in his room! It was really special–Mom said he was in the Cardiac ICU, whatever that means. And they like dogs there! I was soooooo happy. And so was he.
Every day I go back to see him. All the peeps that come in think I’m such a good dog! He’s now in another room, but that hasn’t stopped me going.
Dad has to go someplace else before he can come home, but I know I can go visit him. I’m not so sad anymore.Mom here: Sage’s Dad developed pneumonia a couple of weeks ago and then lost all mobility in his legs. He was admitted to the hospital over a week ago. A few days later, he coded and was moved to the Cardiac ICU. His heart muscle is fine, but he has developed atrial fibrillation (a-fib). After several days of trying to reverse it chemically, the decision was made to insert a pacemaker. There will be another procedure at some point to ablate the a-fib. Then he will spend a few weeks in a rehab facility to regain his mobility. Sage has been magnificent throughout all this ordeal and the awesome ability to be able to take her to see him has lifted both of their spirits.
We probably won’t be around much to visit for a while, but we’ll do what we can.
Sage that was so wonderful that you could visit your dad. 4 paws for this hospital. I cross my paws and I send a lot of POTP your way and I hope your dad is together with you soon.

Oh noes! Sage your Dad must have been so lonely without you. Just great you are now your Dad’s very own therapy dog. Linda here: I had a co didn’t called SVT…supraventricular tachycardia. I had a catheter ablation in 2005 and have been permanently cured. I know A Fib is much more serious, and I hope that Sages Dad gets well soon and comes home to you Ann and Sage

He too had an ablation previously (in 2009) for atrial flutter. A much easier one to reverse than a-fib

I’m so sorry to learn that your husband and Sage’s dad underwent all this but THANKFULLY he’s recovering. What a wonderful hospital to allow Sage to visit. Can’t think of anything better for anyone’s healing. A-fib has been around for years and with all the new treatments for it your husband should recover and live a long healthy time. That’s my/our wish for him. Sending lots of love and special admiration to Sage for being simply the best ever!!! ❤

That is swell they let you visit, Sage! My Gramma had a similar thing happen last fall and has a-fib. She was in and out of the hospital for four months, but she has been holding steady since February. It is very scary stuff! We spent a lot of time at her house taking care of her. I sure hope your daddy feels better soon and can get back home. Gramma is really only now starting to get her “zing” back. Paw prayers for your dad.

Hi Sage, We’re so very sorry to hear about your Daddy. It sounds like you’ve got Daddy’s care under control now which is pawsome. You’re right on top of things. Our Daddy had A-Fib not too long ago and it was no fun. But he’s much better now, thank goodness. We will be keeping you and your family in our good thoughts and prayers. Give your Dad a big kiss from us and tell him that Blogville is here cheering on his recovery.

Sage, we know how hard it is to try to figure out what is going on with the humans we love. We’re sooo glad you were able to visit your dad in the hospital ’cause we know that’s the big reason he’s getting better every day. We’re glad to be in touch again, but not happy that it has to be under such worrisome circumstances. Your mom and dad and you will be in our thoughts and prayers. (((((hugs)))))
