Transitions

Moving has been…well…interesting. And quite the adventure!

  • We sold our house–that was easy.
  • We bought a house–not so easy.

At least I think we have a new house. Mom says we do, but we’ve been living here, there and somewhere since we left Portland! Right now, we’re in a (sorta) Tiny House (that’s what Mom calls it) somewhere in Marin California. At least the kitties are now with us and we are surviving in 290 sq. ft. — about the size of a big crate, don’tcha think?

Meanwhile, I’ve enjoyed the wildlife. I wasn’t sure about those sheep, but we actually touched noses! Maybe that wasn’t what a herding dog should do, but I was trying to be neighborly. You have to do that when you move, or so they say….

On the other hand, those deer weren’t taking any chances!

I understand there’s a bunch of hiking trails nearby, so I think we’ll be checking some of them out soon. Meanwhile, here’s what I’ve found nearby:

Pretty militant, huh?

More my speed! 😀 Too bad there wasn’t any water!

  1. So nice to see you, Sage. We’ve missed you. 290 sq. feet! Yikes. Hope you’ll be able to move into your new house soon. It looks as if you have been having some great adventures. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    • I know…I haven’t been around a lot here lately, but hopefully that’ll change! Of course I’ll have to help Mom move in, but that’s not for another month.

  2. Glad to hear that you’re making new neighbor friends! Barley would love to have sheep for neighbors! I’m not sure what Barley and her kitty brother would think about living in such a small space, but I’m glad you’re all back together again!

  3. My mom has had that in between houses stuff happen before and it can be a bit not fun. She was in a place one time that was so small all the pets started to fight with each other. Hopefully you will have your real home soon.

  4. It sure looks like an interesting area you are in! We just moved too, Our sale was a nightmare but we were at least able to move right into our new home, so we didn’t have to do the transition you’re doing. I guess it’s always something! Hope you get to do some hiking, and are able to move into your new home soon!

  5. Moving is tough work, but in the end it will all be worth it. We have missed you, Sage, and so we thank you for the update. Hope you can get into your new home soon.

  6. Oh dear, Sage, I do hope you find some water soon. Don’t want you to be a fish . . . um, dog . . . out of water. 😉 We just celebrated one year in our new house and city. We were “homeless” for just a few days between selling and buying, but it all worked out. (Mommy’s even finally getting back into the blogging swing of things.) I know things will work out for you too. Great to see you and I hope we get to see more of you in your new digs (maybe not the right word when it comes to dogs) real soon!

  7. Vof vof Sage! Wow, lots of things happening there! Moving is not much fun – I know because we did it twice in 2014. We got all so really tired. Now we are all happy and settled to our new home. We have little garden and good neighbours: Alice the Germand shephard girl (6 months) and her family. We moved before them and then later they took Alice, so I have seen her since she was a small puppy. I hope everything is good with you and your family! Lots of hugs and kisses! Nero and Hanna
PS. are you in Instagram? I saw a puppy like you and thought to send you a link.

  8. To Sage and your mom- hello! How time flies and things change..we haven’t visited in awhile, but right around the holidays, we always think of our friends past and present, see how they’re doing and wish them well. Mom is particularly nostalgic this year (this from Tinker and Anastasia)–she’s getting older, you know how that is..On the other hand, you look terrific! All the best in your new home..they say Marin is one of the places where people live healthy lives and long ones..((hugs))

    • It’s been a long year since I last posted. The move had its ups and downs and now my husband just entered hospice. But, I’m hoping to get back to blogging one of these days!

I’m so glad you found Sage–we show up on Facebook from time to time. Sage is happy with her new life in California and has taken on the task of teaching all the young dogs in–what we call–the ‘Black Pack’ how to behave. Of course it’s what she thinks is proper dog behavior. 😀

      • I am so sorry to hear about your husband. My husband passed away 18 months ago. I saw you had Sage on FB. I am glad she is happy in California. It is so good to hear from you…Sage has always been one of my very favorite dogs on the internet. Keeping you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs
