An End to Boredom!

It’s been a long 3 weeks since I’ve been around (not that I’ve been having fun or anything), but things are getting back to normal at my house—finally! Mom’s knee is healing and the blood clot is (hopefully) under control. I’ve gotten a wonderfully long walk each day from the bestest petsitter in the whole world and some of my favorite bi-peds have taken me on a few outings where I can run.

When I heard I was going to get to go to 1000 Acres the other day, I was in heaven! It was a little weird going without Mom, but I got to go with my buds Heidi and Toby–what could be better?? I was a bit worried about the supply of mud holes, but, fortunately, I was able to find some. 😀

Ahhhhhh

                                                            Ahhhhhh

Mud always means a nice roll in the dirt afterwards. How else is a dog supposed to clean off?

There's nothing like a good roll after wallowing in a mud hole.

Then off we went to the Sandy River where I found a ball!

Look what I found!

                                                           Look what I found!

I even shared with Heidi. She likes to play keep-away.

I'll play ball with you, Heidi.

I’ll play ball with you, Heidi.

We ran and played and ran and played.

Run, Toby, Run!

                                                         Run, Toby, Run!

And I had a bath when I got home…

Mom started taking me for walks yesterday and she whispered to me that we are going to see Mr. N this week for a new adventure! I can’t wait!!

Play Fun!

I know, I know. I’ve been missing. But I’m BACK with a whole lot of fun to tell you about. 1000 Acres twice in the past two days fun. I know you think I go there a LOT, but this dog loves sproinging in the meadows

and swimming in the rivers.

And, of course, you know what happens during rainy season. 🙂

You can't catch me, Heidi!

No rain in sight for a couple of months, but that’s OK. There’s always a dust bath.© sagechronicles.wordpress.com

After a dunk in the water, what’s better than a roll in the dirt?

Oh, wait.

I know!

a roll in M..U..D.

But for now, I’ll settle for a bowl of water.© sagechronicles.wordpress.comMom says I have to take some time to visit all of you. So, I will!!

B & W Sunday: Happiness is…

Even though we’ve had a pretty dry spring, the Sandy River was running hard and fast. Mom wouldn’t let me go in, but I saw some other dogs struggling and swimming sideways to come back to shore with their ball. Mom said the human was irresponsible, whatever that means. Me? If I can’t chase a ball or a stick, I’ll find some other dog to run with. And I did! Around and around and around.

 Was I happy? You bet.

Making Rainbows

My BFF Toby II and I were playing in the Sandy River and he decided to take my stick! MY STICK. What’s up with that, Toby?

OK, if that’s what you want, let’s play a game of tug!

Meanwhile, Toby’s sister, Macy, watched on the shore. Who was she cheering for, I ask?

You know, this is important, so listen up

Loyalties to your pack can be important

and Macy’s smart…

she said she was staying out of this one.

Geez, what’s a girl supposed to do?

(I know..change the focus)

Make rainbows!!

The first one was kinda puny.

But, perfecting the art is what it’s all about, right?I decided

Making rainbows is fun!

Have you made any rainbows lately?

Muddy Monday

It’s hard to top some of my Muddy Mondays, but this was an especially good one! We went to 1000 Acres (always a good spot for mud) on a glorious day. And it’s only early January AND in the Pacific Northwest where it’s suppose to rain all winter. Sort of a weird year so far. The sky was blue and it was almost shirt-sleeve weather. At least for the humans. Personally, I’ve been working on getting rid of some of my coat for the past couple of weeks! I guess that’s why Mom is sweeping so much….

When we first got there, I’m ready. Look out–let the herding begin!! But, I digress. I know you are really wanting to know how muddy I got. It doesn’t take a big mud-puddle. No sirree.

I haven’t quite figured out why I love mud so much, but I thought a good wallow is the right way to go.And then a shake offOops, Mom. I didn’t mean to cover you too 🙂We headed for the Sandy River. It was so clear and clean and WET! Mom even got in and cleaned off her Sloggers (that’s her boots, in case you were wondering).I had another good shake off (don’t worry, I still had to have a bath this time).I hope you notice I created my very own rainbow!

And then, on the way back, we checked out the snow on Mt. Hood. I think all those snowboarders and skiers are not happy this year.

Nero, over at Nero’s Post and Patch awarded me the Collies Choice Award! Nero helps his Mom with her beautiful quilting (and much more) on a magical Greek island. We have loved this blog for a long time and it’s is well worth reading! This award was started by The Collies of The Meadow a really sweet and lovely blog about these gorgeous collies. There are no rules, just that the blog we award this to is a well written one, which frankly, is a whole lot of you!

So, since I can only pass this on to one of you, I would like to bestow this lovely award to my pal, Sophie. She’s a labradoodle that lives in Nova Scotia and loves the water and balls and running and lots of stuff I love too.

Enjoy!!

Fun at the Sandy

December is supposed to be a very rainy month here in the Northwest, but there’s something called La Niña out there, messing up the weather. Not that I’m complaining, mind you. We’ve had some really lovely sunny (but cold, sometimes) days this month, which means I get to have FUN. And we did. Caly, Tucker & I met out at 1000 Acres and the romp was on–or maybe it was….”chew on Sage time”!At least at this point. Don’t worry, I can give back as well as take it. All in a day’s fun, right?

We haven’t been to the Sandy River part of this park in a long time! But, today, we did!Mom has a new *smart* phone and decided to see if the camera was smarter than her old one. Of course, I got to fetch a stick so she could try it out. And create water bubbles.

And bounce out along the sand bar. I had to get way out there to do some swimming! After some time in the river–yes, it was cold, but who cares–we found a tree that must have washed down earlier this fall/winter. Good place to practice my agility!

Then, I had to do some problem-solving. There was this stick stuck in the sand–see? I thought Mom should throw it in the river so I could bring it back, but it was stuck. Really stuck.

I dug out one end and started on the other.I dug and dug and went back to dig some more on the other end. And, there it was! I did it!  I freed it from all that sand. Pretty big stick, huh? Mom said it was so big that she’d need a cannon to shoot it out into the river. She’s a wimp, don’tcha think?

I do have to tell you to check back on Monday. I FINALLY have a Muddy Monday that will rival some of my better ones. I looove mud, don’t you?

Muddy Monday

I’m off to prison my exciting new boarding facility today–remember Mom will be gone a WHOLE month? There’s this little hu-man baby arriving in San Francisco really soon now. At least that’s what they’re telling me. But, Dad will be back in a few days, so he’ll break me out of there. At least he’d better!!

But, before I leave, I couldn’t pass up another Muddy Monday. I’ve certainly had more spectacular ones, but this is the best you can get when it’s HOT and all the water is drying up and there’s nothing but dirt. Except at the river.Pee Ess: I think I might be able to sneak a few stories to you while Mom is gone and we’ll be checking in with you the whole time!  So, don’t forget me…….

Muddy Monday

I haven’t done Muddy Monday for a while and, boy, have I been going through withdrawal. I think some of my blog pals have too, so I decided to rectify that! (Psssst, Mom told me that big word. Funny sounding isn’t it?) We went to the Sandy River (out there at 1000 Acres, you know) and the river forgot some of its water. I found this little mud-hole created by a sand bar right next to the river. It was full of mud and gloriously stinky. Of course I made a beeline for it. I don’t know why Mom was shaking her head–maybe a bee got too close….I didn’t stay long, because I think swimming is my favoritest thing to do in the whole world. Well, next to ball. BUT, put them both together and what do you get? ME! (And Sophie–she likes balls & swimming & stuff, just like me)! It’s too bad she’s a whole zillion miles away. Mom’s been taking me a LOT here lately–I sure like summer!

OH, I almost forgot to show you my ball dance. Mom made a silly movie and she messed up near the end and blurred me all up. But I told her it’s all right. She got my dance moves, so that’s all that counts. At least that’s what I say!
