The Giving Fence

I went to my favorite indoor dog park–Fido’s–the other day and saw pictures of a lot of anipals on the fence. What was that all about? Are they in jail?

These were definitely mug shots. There were big kitties, little kitties and all kinds of dogs. I even saw a bunny there. This looked like a pretty major crime scene.

Mom told me there was no crime scene and my imagination was going just a little wild. Well, what did she expect? They were all up there on bars and that’s what happens on Tee-Vee for crying out loud.

She told me this was all about my furiends (like Toby and I once were) at the Oregon Humane Shelter. They need presents for Christmas too. Maybe not tug-a-war toys or balls or fancy treats, but stuff to help them live. Things like food so they can eat, and leashes so they can go on walks, and kitty litter and replacement milk for puppies. Hmmm. I wonder if they gave me that?  I was a little puppy when I came to the shelter.

We talked about this and I thought we should help these anipals–well, I did talk it over with Toby, Mystic and Thailing. We decided we should take a dog and a kitty mug shot–oops, picture–and there were words on the back of the pictures. Mom told me these words told us what we should get. They were pretty big words, in case you thought I couldn’t read. Really.

Mystic thought this kitty was fine-looking. He asked for some food–that was what was on the back of his picture. We got him this whole case plus almost another full one! I bet he will share.

Mystic was pretty happy about her choice. She told me she even liked the bow on our little tree! I told her NOT to eat it–that was my job.

Toby and I picked this dog. He was pretty handsome, if I don’t say so myself. I wonder why he wanted puppy replacement milk? I bet he was taking care of some little puppies and their Mom wasn’t there and they really needed it. I thought that was really nice of him. Isn’t that what you are supposed to do during the holidays? Help those that can’t help themselves?

I was so happy Fido’s has a Giving Fence! It’s good to help our shelter anipals. They need us.

I was pretty tuckered out after all that. And do you know what I dreamed? That every anipal at the shelter got their wish!! Wouldn’t that be the best?

Now it’s time to go to the Blog Hop. I’ll even wake up for that!

  1. I think you did a great thing! They’ll probably really appreciate those presents more than we can know, and maybe, just maybe, they’ll find their forever homes for Christmas, too. That’d be the best!

  4. Hello Sage, that was wonderful thing to do – unfortunately we can’t give home for all the homeless animals but if we can help them some other way it’s great! I’m so happy I have found good home with my ‘sisters’ and we are not outside in the rain without food… Hugs and kisses to you Sage!
